Institute at a Glance

This two-day leadership institute has three main learning goals:
1) building self-knowledge of leadership, with attention to the ways identities influence choices and approaches to leadership;
2) building contextual knowledge of leadership, with attention paid to current challenges and crises in higher education and the lgbtq+ community; and
3) career development, with opportunities for participants to network, meet with mentors, and plan their career paths. (Upon registration, attendees will have the opportunity to request a mentoring session.)

Getting to New Haven: From outside the northeast–Many people will fly into one of the NYC airports and take the train from NY to New Haven. Amtrak goes there, and the Metro North system has a New Haven line. Alternatively, if you fly into Hartford, CT, you may take Amtrak to New Haven from there. If you drive, it’s about a 30-minute drive from Hartford to New Haven.

The hotel discount for our room block has expired (as of 9/17), but rooms should still be available at the New Haven Hotel, in downtown New Haven. For reservations, call 203-498-3100. Or see the website at https://www.newhavenhotel.com. The group name is LGBTQ Leaders. The hotel is in downtown New Haven, a 30 minute walk or short cab/car ride from the Union Station.
